Often overlooked, the humble trail mix can be a power pack of healthy goodness. Even more so when you make it yourself, with your favourite ingredients.

This super simple recipe is dairy, gluten, soya free and only contains complex carbs from wholefoods. The ultimate on-the-go snack!

 

Serves 6

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of unsalted and unroasted almonds
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted and unroasted walnut halves
  • 1/2 cup of Elements for Life coconut chips
  • 1/4 cup of unroasted and unsalted pumpkin seeds
  • 1/4 cup of dried mango
  • 1/4 cup of raisins
  • 1/4 cup of Elements for Life raw cacao nibs
  • 1 cup of cinnamon popcorn (popped popcorn with 1 teaspoon of organic cinnamon powder)

Instructions

  1. Simply mix it all together and store in a airtight container or paper bag, this trail mix will keep fresh for over a week.

Variations

You could easily adapt this to include any of your favourite healthy wholefoods, such as goji berries, different nuts and seeds.
