Reflections on a year of madness!
My doesn't time fly and would you believe that we're celebrating one year today!
That's right folks, it's been a full 12 months since we started this hair brained, wild ride that is Elements for Life. Though if I'm honest I do jest about it being hair brained (and where did that expression come from?!) as it's been anything but. Endlessly surprising, fun, exciting, scary and down right silly at times would be closer to the mark!
Even if I say so myself, it's amazing what we've achieved in a year, especially given the constant talking up of doom and gloom by much of the media. So as much for my own benefit to see what we've done and where might we be going, here's a summary of a Year in the Life of Elements for Life.
Launched in under 4 weeks
Yep after Paula had the bright idea to make a raw chocolate making kit, we went from no experience in product design or manufacture, to sourcing a diverse range of suppliers buliding prototypes, building an ecommerce website, creating a brand identity, starting to market a product without any product and selling out our first batch. All in under 4 weeks!
Not content to be making, what we think is the best raw chocolate making kit on the market, we've also created a healthy raw treat in the shape of our Yummy Scrummy raw chocolate brownie. Take a look at some of the feedback it's been receiving and you'll wonder what you're missing out on.
We're consistently adding new Elements for Life stockists, shipping orders across Europe and having regular enquiries fro far and wide.
Double Award Winners
As if all that wasn't enough, we've even managed to grab ourselves 2 awards in our first year, with Yummy Scrummy winning a Gold in the Taste of the West Awards and Elements for Life winning the Best Local Producer at the Bath Good Food Awards.
We've also teamed up with another local rising star in the form of The Wiltshire Chilli Farm and between us have created a special edition raw chilli chocolate making kit, something we think is unique in the world.
Lastly, we've been getting some fab reviews on various blogs and websites and even some good coverage in both local and national media.
So all in all, it's been a pretty amazing 12 months and I'm not ashamed to be writing this post, even if some people think it's purely self-congratulatory. I'm proud of what we've achieved and want to share my excitement with everyone.
2012 and beyond!
As we enter our second year, a year with so much mystery, superstition and prophecies around it, where do I see Elements for Life in the next 12 months? The answer is simple.....
Still here, still growing, still spreading the raw chocolate love and above all doing our very best to keep the silliness and fun alive in everything we do and everyone we touch.
Fancy coming along for the ride?
