Super Breakfast Smoothie
We love smoothies, especially for breakfast, as they are a great way of getting loads of good stuff in easily, without having to do too much chewing.
This quick and easy recipe is a great starting point, but you can easily adapt it to your preferences or to what you have in the cupboard. The following will make 2 good sized glasses, so you can adjust if it's just one of you, or keep it in the fridge for later in the day.
Ingredients
1 Banana
2 cups Mixed Berries
Handful Raw Cacao Nibs
1tsp Maca powder
1tsp Rosehip powder
1tsp Kelp powder
1/2 - 1 pint Hemp milk
Method
Stick all the ingredients in a blender and fire it up until smooth. Simple as that!
Some options
You can adjust how fluid your smoothie is by adding more or less hemp milk.
We like a bit of bite to our smoothies, so use the raw cacao nibs as they are, but you can grind them down in a coffee grinder or pestle n mortar if you want. Alternatively you could use raw cacao powder.
Fresh berries are best and with summer coming we'll soon be out collecting loads and freezing them. But if you don't have fresh you can usually buy bags of frozen berries, which also make your smoothie nicely chilled.
