Cultivated for at least 12,000 years hemp is one of the earliest domesticated plants and is one of the fastst know biomasses known.
Hemp seeds are hugely nutritious, with around 44% of the weight comprised of edible oils, containing about 80% essential fatty acids (EFAs) and the other major component, about 33%, is proteins. Hemp protein contains all 21 known amino acids, including the 9 essential ones adult bodies cannot produce, so considered "complete".
Hemp seeds can be eaten raw and whole, added to salads and smoothies or raw cakes. They can also be used for making hemp milk.
